We have listed a number of great steelhead rivers in Michigan here. Anywhere you are in the lower peninsula, you should easily be able to find steelhead within a couple hour drive. I have mainly listed larger rivers on this steelhead map, but there are small tributaries of most of these rivers that also get good Michigan steelhead runs. You can zoom in and pan around on this map to find the perfect spot for steelheading near you.
Plenty of steelhead in the Muskegon, but they are not necessarily where I have placed this marker. Try Croton dam and Newaygo areas for good fishing access.
You can bank fish below the Allegan dam, but wading probably isn't going to happen (deep water). You can use the boat launch here though and probably catch steelhead in winter/spring.
Clinton river has some steelhead. Park areas along with road crossings provide good access to the river.
Southeast Michigan Steelhead can be found in this river. Also see the Clinton river which is nearby.
This is one of several dams on the Grand river in Michigan that you can catch steelhead.
Foote dam is a popular place for steelhead on the Ausable, a Lake Huron tributary.
While the entire lower Manistee river gets a good steelhead run, I have placed this marker at Tippy dam, a very popular fishing spot on the Manistee for steelhead and salmon.
